Logistics Services

The Freight Service is the pioneer Strategic Business Unit of NLC that provides customized logistics solutions to the customers in the ever fast growing market. The Organization specializes in safe transportation and speedy delivery of essential commodities to the length and breadth of the Country. Freight Service is known for introducing innovative concepts and technologies in logistics. Be it the induction of most modern prime movers, the concept of containerization or fleet management with the help of the most modern tracking system, NLC performed a crucial role in transformation of cargo sector into a challenging enterprise. Freight Service owns the Country’s largest fleet and its operations are extended in transportation of crude, furnace oil, white oil, wheat, fertilizers and other multiple segments of dry cargo. It has huge infrastructure of support facilities all over the country including integral base workshops, field workshops and Trans Freight Stations. NLC acts as a stabilizing force in the market to maintain equilibrium in transportation rates, generate competition and keep an effective check on unwarranted pressure applied on clients by undesired market forces.

Dry Ports & Border Terminals  

Dry Ports

The Dry Ports managed by NLC are known for their client friendly facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The businessman and traders are afforded facilities like easy customs clearance, comprehensive handling services, safe & accessible warehousing and inland movement of goods to any location within Pakistan. The Dry Ports are adequately equipped with latest scanners, weightbridges, cranes, reach stackers, top lifters, fork lifters, tender fire crash, generators and mechanical brooms etc.

Border Terminals

Development of a network of Border Terminals is imperative to materialize the objective of promoting inter regional and   intra regional trade and business. To achieve this end, NLC has setup Border Terminals  at Wagha,Torkham, Jamrud and Chaman, Ghulam Khan Khel & Kharlachi. These Terminals are playing crucial role in   boosting trade with neighbouring India and Afghanistan. More Terminals are being established at Angoor Adda near Pak   Afghan border, Gabd and Taftan along Iranian border crossing and Sost near Chinese border to facilitate import / export   business with respective countries. The Border Terminals at Chaman, Torkham and Wahga are being further upgraded  to  have most modern facilities as part of the approved master plan of Asian Development Bank (ADB) under Integrated   Transit Trade Management System (ITTMS). The Border Terminals will make Pakistan a hub of international transit  trade  after operationalization of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Applied Technologies Institutes of NLC (ATINs)

Established in 2006 with a view to contribute towards Government’s efforts to promote skilled human resource capital, the ATINs are offering marketable technical/ vocational courses to students. ATIN campuses at Mandra and Dina which are ideally located for facilitating youth from Northern Punjab and Kashmir whereas ATIN Amangrah (Nowshera) is offering training facilities to students from KPK and FATA. Considering vacuum in vocational training facilities in Sindh, campus of ATIN at Khairpur Mir’s was established in 2017 to facilitate youth of Sindh. Similarly, to impart technical training to the youth of GB, an ATIN has been set up at Gilgit with the assistance of GB Government. ATINs have enhanced capacity of training to 4700 with lodging and boarding facilities for over 2500 students. More than 50,000 students have been trained in these institutions serving with leading organizations in Pakistan and overseas.

Tolling

In 1999, NLC was assigned the task to revive the sick tolling sector and make it major source of earning for the Government. NLC introduced a comprehensive package of reforms in toll collection system primarily focusing on prevention of pilferage, induction of strong management & efficient human resource, installation of e-system on toll plazas, round the clock monitoring through CCTV and feedback from commuters and general public. Due to tremendous credibility established by NLC, people now by and large consider paying toll tax as civic responsibility. NLC has also the distinction of being highest revenue collector for the National Highways Authority (NHA). NLC is operating toll plazas on major highways and has contributed more than Rs. 6 billion till 31 May 2018 to the national exchequer.

Initially formed to provide infrastructure support to logistics operations, Engineers NLC has come a long way to symbolize commitment, distinction and professional excellence by meeting the demanding and extra ordinary work requirements of high engineering for the last four decades. Engineers NLC undoubtedly enjoy an unblemished reputation of company that delivers construction projects ahead of schedule, within allocated budget and to the ultimate satisfaction of its valued clients. This has further consolidated trust and confidence reposed by our business entrepreneurs’ testament by repetition of orders from the clients. Over the years, Engineers NLC have not just proved themselves as credible, efficient and quality producing construction company, but have set new benchmarks of professional acumen and expertise.
